Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hangman – Word Rescue ("we", "our", or "the App"), developed by Fahreddin Sevindir, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App on iOS or Android.

By using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the game experience:

Account data: An anonymous user ID is created automatically when you first launch the App (Firebase Anonymous Authentication). If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider.
Display name & avatar: If you set a display name or upload a profile photo, this is stored in our database and visible to other players in multiplayer mode.
Game progress: Your word-guessing history, level progress, coin balance, lives, achievement status, and daily challenge results.
Device & app identifiers: A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used to send push notifications (e.g. "your lives are full", "your turn in a match"). This token is stored on our servers and rotated automatically by the SDK.
Crash & diagnostic data: Stack traces and error logs collected by Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. This data is aggregated and does not include personal information.
Support requests: If you use the in-app contact form, we store your message, the contact email address you optionally provide, and the app version, platform and language sent with the request, so we can reply and prevent abuse.

2. Advertising Data (AdMob)

The App displays banner and rewarded advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID on Android or IDFA on iOS) and usage data to serve personalised ads.

In regions subject to GDPR (EEA / UK) or CCPA (California), the App presents a consent prompt on first launch via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). If you decline personalised ads, only non-personalised ads are shown.

You can reset or opt-out of personalised advertising at any time in your device's privacy settings (Settings → Privacy → Advertising on iOS; Settings → Google → Ads on Android).

3. In-App Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive a purchase receipt to verify entitlements but do not store payment card details. Refund requests are handled according to Apple's and Google's own policies.

4. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your game account and progress.
To enable multiplayer matchmaking and real-time gameplay.
To send push notifications about your game activity (you can disable these in device Settings).
To serve advertisements and validate purchase receipts.
To diagnose crashes and improve app stability.
To maintain leaderboards and daily challenge results.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, each bound by their own privacy policies:

Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, messaging, analytics, crashlytics) – firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google AdMob – policies.google.com/privacy
RevenueCat (in-app purchase and entitlement management) – revenuecat.com/privacy
Apple / Google (in-app purchases) – subject to their respective platform policies.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as you use the App. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Permanently delete account.

Deletion removes your account record, profile, display name and avatar, coins, lives, premium status, ELO rating, achievements, coin ledger, purchase receipts, push notification token, leaderboard entries, invite codes, daily challenge results and support tickets. 7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data (use in-app Delete Account, or contact us).
Object to or restrict processing.
Data portability (export your game data).

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, Firebase Security Rules, and server-side validation to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
